Anyone looking to set up an Azure environment doesn’t need to start from scratch. Microsoft has developed extensive guidelines and best practices for a correct and efficient cloud environment setup. These guidelines can be found in the Cloud Adoption Framework and the Well-Architected Framework.

The CAF helps with planning, implementing, and managing a successful cloud adoption, including strategic planning, governance, and organizational change. The WAF, on the other hand, focuses on designing robust and efficient cloud architectures with best practices in security, reliability, cost optimization, and performance.

Optimize the costs of your Azure Cloud environment with FinOps

Sometimes a (small) configuration change within your cloud environment can make a big difference. Recently, we saved one of our clients €2,000 per month in Azure cloud costs with just one click.

There are numerous factors that can be considered to keep costs within the Azure cloud environment under control. For example, the type of resources, the services used, the location of stored data, and the reservation of resources all play a role in determining the monthly consumption costs

To ensure that your business case for cloud migration remains substantiated and that you only pay for what you actually need, we recommend conducting a FinOps assessment. On average, this exercise results in monthly cost savings of 10% to 40%, with an ROI between 1 and 6 months.
